Building a Z scale playground definitely has its challenges!  Other scales have playground equipment available and I highly suggest you take advantage of those as they look pretty good, they're not too expensive, and they're already built.  You can click on the playground equipment below to see how I built each one of them from flat sheets of styrene or scroll down a little to see how I built the playground once I had the equipment done.
